A successful 2006
The Military Families Foundation provided over $40,000 in cash support to
deployed
soldiers and their families this past year. Your donations
served as a crucial component of helping families cope with
emergencies and loss. Thank you very much for your support
to those who are serving on the front lines in this prolonged
war.
What is a Family Readiness Group?
Simply put, these groups are part of military units that take care of soldiers'
families. They are officers, soldiers, civilians and family members that
are organized to
provide financial and emotional support to family members. Among
other things, these groups help in family emergencies, help with travel
expenses when soldiers are killed or wounded, help organize and send
gift boxes to their loved ones.

Due to the overwhelming
success of last years sponsorship, we are again sponsoring a
team in the the annual Bicycle Race Across America (http://www.raceacrossamerica.org). This June, distance
bicycle riders John Schlitter and Phil Plath are going
to race their bikes, non stop across America to help raise funds for
Family Readiness Groups. This event is known as the most grueling
athletic event in the world - eight plus days, almost non-stop on
a bike - from San Diego to Atlantic City. We have a couple
of corporate donors who have laid down a challenge by providing matching gifts.
Please help us with this challenge. As always, 100% of
the money donated by the public will go to military
families. To learn more about John and Phil, and their
efforts to help military families please click
